Common Butterwort is an interesting insectivorous plant having sticky leaves with which it traps its prey. The flowers are at the end of a long stalk, violet in colour and also have the appearance of a Violet (the flower). In flower from late spring to mid summer in boggy, wet places in the north of England, Scotland and Wales.
