Bog Asphodol has deep yellow, star-like flowers growing on a short spike from mid to late summer, and flattened leaves. Once in fruit the stems turn to a deep orange. Found in acidic conditions such as bogs, peaty heaths and moors in the north and west and only the extreme south.
