The ever-changing town of Reading grew up at the junction between the Rivers Thames and Kennet, developing from a market town into today's hi-tech hub. In this exhibition drawings and paintings from the Museum of Reading's collection are contrasted with photographs of the same views today. Together they reveal transformed townscapes, lost buildings, buildings that were saved and areas that have changed surprisingly little. The exhibition is being held at The John Madjeski Art Gallery at the Reading Museum from 14th February 2009 to 14th June 2009. A team of four photographers helped to provide the current views, and these are the ones contributed by Clive. The paintings and drawings on which they were based can be seen at the exhibition.
