| Originally
the site of St Giles' Mill and a large water tower, it was subsequently
used by the Reading Corporation Tramways for a Power Station (see
plaque), then a bus depot, before being cleared to make way for
the Oracle retail centre. The building on the right is a cinema and on the left the Oracle car park. The Kennet flows past behind them. This is based on a painting by Alfred Rawlings (1855-1939). Find the location on an interactive map. |
