EMMER
GREEN RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION (EGRA) was established in 1984, as a pressure
group to support the Council in their opposition to major development
in a rural valley. Subsequently the association took on a much broader
role in he community. Currently EGRA works hard to reflect the wishes
of local people, and has a membership of 450 households. It has representations
and close links with local Councillors, Reading Borough Council, Thames
Valley Police, and other residents' associations. It is pro-active on
environmental issues, transport provision, and local planning and development
is top of the agenda. It liases with and supports local amenities and
groups and organisations. Local projects have included an historical
exhibition and book, village sign, community notice board, dragon sculpture,
memorial seats and tree planting. The association is non-political and
non-commercial. ANNUAL REPORT & AGM, BIANNUAL NEWSLETTERS, MEMBERS ONLY TRADESMEN'S LIST, WEBSITE & ACTIVE email GROUP. Members feedback valuable information. The more households that belong, the greater our voice and representation. Membership is still only £1.00 per year. In 2009 EGRA celebrates its 25 years anniversary. Click
